Garden

Two must have books.

I have two must have books to show you even if you don't intend to go to London or New York. They both have the same format and are both made from beautiful card stock paper. They are inspirational for design purposes and highly inspiring. I'm sure after looking at them you will want to go visit these two amazing cities. Don't expect the usual tourist places to visit, more like beautiful hidden gems.

Docton Mill and other things.

The Barn Owl is getting clever, it leaps out of the Dovecott and flies off making it impossible for me to take pictures, unless of course he stands on top of the Dovecott in the pitch black (in these parts of Devon I mean pitch black, the sky is like a planatarium at night, very beautiful) hence the not great picture of him taken with a flash, but you get the gist!

For sale a large amount of vintage watering cans!

That's it I'm selling them, I don't need them anymore, all they do is hold rain water, lots and lots and lots of it! Can't see me needing them again until October when we will probably be basking in 102 degrees!Anyone else bemused by the weather in the U.K this year?

More from Petersham nurseries.

Due to popular demand I am showing you the rest of my photographs from Petersham nurseries, I don't really think they need any explanation, just grab a coffee and something nice to eat and sit and drool over such gorgeousness!

Are you a hoarder?

I'm not a hoarder, if I don't use something off it goes. Sometimes this has been a big mistake, but in this case I don't think it is.My lovely little old camera that had served me well for years has gone on a journey, I loved the feel of it, have to confess I missed it when my new complicated camera arrived, but I decided that when the time was right I would give it up, not much use just sitting in a drawer.

Vintage everything and don't forget to look back!

I am drawn to old and faded it would seem in most things, including flowers!

In my last blog I was telling you to look up, now I'm telling you to look back, especially at the back of flowers and leaves, they can be just as spectacular as the front, sometimes even more so.

A catch up weekend.

This weekend has been a catch up weekend, which is good as the weather is STILL pretty lousy. We have emptied the loft of my Son's stored belongings as he and his girlfriend move from Winchester to London next weekend. Because we don't have to help move them (horrrrraaaaahhhhhhhh!) we washed all linens and clothes and ironed them. We are good like that, but in reality it is just our way of helping, which as I've mentioned is infinitely better than driving a lorry to the centre of London.

I blame the rain!

This was how my day started, at work by 6.30am finish by 12.30, then gardening was on the agenda. I am so far behind with gardening due to the rain. Yesterday, as you can see from my previous blog, was like summer so to be hurled straight back into a damp dull day is not funny, still nothing you can

Summer was here briefly today!

This afternoon summer appeared in my garden very briefly, everywhere looks very green and lush after all the rain, my Bee houses are weathering nicely as are my frogs! A certain furry creature was busy looking for birds, frogs or really anything she could catch.

Unexpected weekend

Don't you just love it when something unexpected and nice happens, if you are like me you lead a busy life, you work (even if you are at home) life gets a bit sucked down a big hole and you forget to notice the small everyday things that are just as lovely as the big exciting things. You get snitty with your partner because at the end of the day you are tired, (don't you love that word 'snitty") this is what my husband sometimes say's I am, which is not so good!

Anyway to get back to the nice unexpected things, we are off to Odle Farm for a long weekend, not planned at all, we will walk, talk, eat, have nice coffee, take pictures providing I can get the hang of my new camera, visit some galleries in Honiton, drool at the lexington goodies in the Peter Betteridge shop, visit Lyme Regis and the lovely Town Mill Bakery, see our friends at Odle Farm, it's been a long time, watch the shooting stars whilst sitting in the hot tub, and I will not be snitty!

Have a good weekend whatever you do, I will be back on Monday with hopefully some new pictures and places that might tempt you.

A gorgeous Lexington video for you to drool over, enjoy. Especially for my friend Dave B, check out all those cushions!

Enjoy my house Tom and Rosie, you deserve the rest.

Two things.

Today I had a session at the Osteopath, it hurt lots, I felt sorry for myself so I bought my self some flowers, they don't make my body feel any better but they are nice to look at. I need a job that pays good money, doesn't involve too much physical exertion, but is interesting and arty, suggestions on a postcard please, or even better offers on a postcard please. Secondly I would like to go and eat at this tree house restaurant , Tom they don't have a video so get yourself to New Zealand quick smart! They need you.
