Everything else

I'm all for five day weekends.

I love weekends, especially the ones where you have done everything during the week, all that is left to do is have a nice time for two days. This weekend was one of those, we had my youngest son and his girlfriend visit, we saw nice things, ate nice things, enjoyed each others company, and we managed to fit in the all important relaxing doing nothing. However I feel all that was lacking was three more days.

My perfect place to shop Uniche Interiors

Sometimes you just come across something that fits perfectly into your way of living. I have loved the Industrial vintage style of home decor for a long time now. It's the no fuss, hardwearing style that I love. A home for me has to be lived in and not too precious, that way everyone who crosses your door feels relaxed. Firstly take a look at the home of Mark Bentham and Laura Lane, absolutely beautiful.

You must listen to this.

I had a very productive bank holiday weekend. We had just had a weeks holiday, so decided (even though it was nice weather),  we would spend this weekend sanding and painting doors, or should I say more doors, clearing out the mess in the cupboards that the doors hide, eating nice food, practicing tunes on the guitar and singing (Mr B not me), a bit of gardening, and sorting through yet more magazines before chucking them out.

The Watermill at Michelam Priory

There has been a Watermill at Michelam Priory since at least 1434, it, like most watermill's is in a lovely setting. We were fortunate enough to arrive just in time to see milling taking place. I love the sound of Watermill's and have fantasised more than once about living in one.I know there is always the risk of flooding, but that amazing sound of the water and the wildlife it attracts (minus the mice) would more than make up for that.

Cuckfield West Sussex.

My two son's now aged 27 and 25 were born in Cuckfield West Sussex. The hospital they were born in no longer exists, it was a listed building and has now been turned into luxury apartments and sold for a very lovely price. We quite often return to the area as it is such a well kept pretty county along with East Sussex, the county boundary for East Sussex runs a mere 6 miles from Cuckfield.

Sculpture by the lakes

Now that it has warmed up slightly we thought it would be a good time to catch up on visiting some sculpture parks that we didn't get to last year. Sculpture By The Lakes is in Pallington near Dorchester, Dorset, it had been on the list for a while, so off we went. We were pleased we visited, the setting is very relaxing although we don't think we would revisit like we have with other sculpture parks, there is just not enough variety for more than one visit.
