You would think from the pictures that Rye is a large place to visit, but it is just a small medieval town. Here are a few of my favourite things found in Rye.
Looking down on the roof's of Rye
A stones throw away from The George in Rye is the Parish Church of St Mary, we visited it mainly because we knew you could climb the bell tower and would get some good views looking down on to the roof's of Rye.
A birthday in Rye
For Christmas me and my husband gave each otherGrouponvouchers for a night each at The George in Rye, We have been lucky enough to stay there before, but at £245 per night its a rare treat, the groupon vouchers allowed us the same style room but for only £99 per night, excellent.

Who can resist a good quilt shop? The only problem is choosing materials from the huge choice. This quilt shop is in the lovely town of Lewes in East Sussex, it's called The Patchwork Dog and Basket and is located in the Needlemakerswhich is full of lovely things, if you visit Lewes be sure to head straight for it.

A week away after Christmas
Whitchurch Silk Mill
Whitchurch Silk Mill in Hampshire is a 19th century water mill that weaves English silk fabrics using 19th century machinery. The Mill is the oldest working silk mill in Britain, still weaving in its original building. If you are a fan of BBC productions such as Cranford and Pride and Prejudice you will have seen some of their work being worn in the period costumes.
Christmas at Nymans gardens
A December day with no rushing.
We have taken time out of shopping, wrapping, card writing and rushing. These are December days as they should be.A 5 mile walk around the countryside of Alresford in Hampshire, a leisurely lunch and a small unrushed bit of window shopping in small privately owned well thought out shops, I don't count that as shopping!
Round Swamp Farm, East Hampton, New York
The farmers market at Round swamp farm in the Hampton's New York is just stunning.
Devils Bridge Waterfalls.
Devils Bridge Waterfalls and nature trail is in Aberystwyth Wales.
There are three famous bridges, one built on top of the other. The lowest is the Devil’s bridge, a simple stone arch which, despite its name, is thought to have been made by the monks of Strata Florida abbey, for it lies on the route between their former hospices for travellers at Ysbyty Ystwyth and Ysbyty Cynfyn (near Parson’s Bridge). The river itself also takes its name from the holy men, mynach being Welsh for monk.
Melin Tregwynt and a very special walk to the cove.
Melin Tregwynt is a working woollen mill near Abermawr in Pembrookshire, they make beautiful wool blankets that can be found in John Lewis, Heals and Conran's as well as stores in Paris and Japan.
The National wool museum
During our stay in Wales we were told that there was a historical woollen mill within walking distance of our cottage, in the village of Dre-fach Felindre (don't ask I don't know how you say it) in the beautiful Teifi Valley, which was once the centre of a thriving woollen industry, earning the nickname 'The Huddersfield of Wales'.

The best sort of Gym
Recently I have joined a gym, there are no fees, the views are good and entertainment comes and goes. As yet there has been no testosterone males showing off just how fit they are, no females that have spent 3 hours looking good before they get to the gym, and best of all no sweaty smell perfuming the air.
