The Tate Modern resides on the beach,

and the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Museum and garden is just around the corner in the house where she worked and lived.

So there you have it, St Ives, interesting but very busy. I would not set foot in it in the summer holidays, it's a bit too touristy for me but none the less I'm glad I visited just the once.

We had amazing food on a sea front restaurant with views straight over the beach.

The Tate modern I'm afraid did nothing for me. I tried to see what the written plaques were telling me, but I guess it's just not my thing, however I did laugh at one instillation that said it only took a day to complete, my instant thought was 'really, that long?'

The Barbara Hepworth garden was lovely, but smaller than I imagined, and again the sculptures are just not really for me.

So I guess I may not return even though the day was interesting, thought provoking, very hot and torture on the legs!

Lastly for those of you that looked at yesterdays blog http://karenbarclay.com/everything-else/off-to-cornwall/ and are interested in staying at the house, it does not have a web site yet but if you contact me I can put you in touch with the owner, I have a funny feeling it may get booked up rather quickly, on the other hand I may take up being a squatter!
