Memory quilt no3

A few weeks ago I blogged about some memory quilts that I had made and I mentioned that I had one more to make. This quilt is for the youngest son of the family who sadly lost his dad to cancer, almost all of the material has come from the fathers clothes. As it was for a young boy I thought it would be a positive thing to include bunting, to me this celebrates his dads life. On the bunting are things that are meaningful to the family, the nurse represents the mums occupation, the keyboard and pen and pad of paper represents the dad who was a journalist. In the four corners of the bunting are hearts made out of clothes from each member of the family. The words at each end of the quilt were sayings left by the dad, and a poem at the bottom of the quilt was specifically left for the young son by his dad before he died. I hope that this quilt brings comfort in years to come to a small boy who unfortunately didn't get to know his father.
