A quilt for Dominic.

A while ago I posted a blog about a quilt that I made for Gail, today's quilt is for Gail's seven year old son Dominic. Dominic's dad died very suddenly without any goodbyes, so it is important to Dominic to have some good memories all wrapped up in his very own special quilt.

Dominic designed seven patches to go on the quilt, these consisted of things that meant something personal to himself and his dad.

Naval and non naval clothes were used, even a very much cosseted red polo shirt, that we hope Dominic's dad will forgive me for cutting up.

'Turn that frown upside down' This was something Dominic's dad used to say to him when he had a grumpy face.

The Angel of the North, one for each of them. One made from the famous red polo shirt, one from a T.Shirt that Dominic's dad bought for him whilst on his Navy travels.

Dominic's dad was often away with the Navy. Dominic was taught that if he said goodnight to his dad whilst looking at the moon,  his dad could also do the same wherever he was.

Word has it that the quilt has not been far from Dominic's clutches since he received it.
