My reason for not much blogging.

Since returning from my holiday five weeks ago I haven't blogged much, it has been hectic trying to catch up from having three weeks off.I do have one other reason though, my 91 year old mum had some mini strokes whilst I was away, she has been in hospital for 7 weeks, it has been a bit of an eye opener for all concerned. Up until now she has been a fiercely independent lady, however these strokes have taken away not only her independence, but a lot of her character. She has only been in hospital twice since having me 51 years ago, fortunately for her she hasn't really realised where she has been these past 7 weeks, if she did she would be making a sheet rope ladder and ab sailing out of the window to get free! She has loved holidays and going out for days with her friend, eating out, reading and cross stitch. Today she has gone to a home where they will care for her, and hopefully she will enjoy her time with new friends, it must be a very scary thing, even if you are a bit oblivious about daily life. She has left behind a little apartment that she had worked very hard for when she was in her 50's, I am also grateful that she seems to not remember her apartment. We hope we have made the right choice for her, it's very difficult to know if you have chosen the right place but I'm sure we have. Happy new home mum.

I promised some Christmas blog's and hopefully will get around to some for you, for now here are a few of the Christmas things in my home.

We have old and new decorations and like most families things that mean something to us. I have a fetish for red and white bakers twine this year, I love it and it is very useful for all things Christmas. I also have a Christmas pet hate, its chocolate advent calendars, I loathe them and my sons have never had them, I especially don't like the children that open every door on the 1st of dec, eat all the chocolates and then close all the doors. Rant over! I miss reading Christmas stories to my children, we used to sit in a big chair with just the fairy lights on and read before going to bed, very very magical. Time goes very fast, so enjoy your run up to Christmas, it's all to easy to rush around and not enjoy it.
