Today is my son's girlfriends birthday.

Happy Birthday Rosie.

Rosie already has two quilts made by me, a Christmas one and a 21st birthday one.

Today she is the owner of a spring chicken quilt.

I carefully selected and cut out all the pieces.

Then sewed them all together

The spring chickens were appliquéd onto the quilt, all twelve of them.

And one suspect looking cat

A special birthday message was sewn onto the back of the quilt.

And here is the finished gift, in all its birthday, spring, and easter loveliness. Spot the cat.

It could be used to drape over the back of a chair, to keep you cosy in this weird cold weather we are having, as a spring table cover, or just stacked up with a few other quilts and blankets to create a nice bit of colour in your room.

I prefer to use my quilts rather than keep them as precious not to be touched items, that way they get a nice antique used look, and are enjoyed.
